Back

So I realized today that I haven't been on DA since last january... which is weird, since I have been doing art. I'm going to see about getting some of it up here... expect a few photos, one or two logo/tshirt designs, and some large drawings from drawing 1 last spring in the next week or two.

Jumper

Sat Jan 12, 2008, 10:12 PM
So, has anyone else seen the trailer for Jumper yet?

It's based on a really excellent book by Steven Gould of the same name, and it kind of has me irritated. I first read Jumper I think when I was 10 or 11, and it's always been one of my favorite books. It's a very interesting and compelling story. You should read it. And the sequel, Reflex. Also an excellent book.

Anyway, my problem isn't that I don't think Jumper should be a movie. My problem is that it shouldn't be THIS movie. The plot is completely different, and it doesn't leave room for the original's philosophy or moral themes. If you've read it, you should watch the trailer and tell me what you think. I mean, the fact that it's got Samuel L. Jackson is definitely a pro, but... well, I'm certain it'll be a good movie.

I'm equally certain it won't be my Jumper.

Black Friday

For once I didn't spend it being niggardly. I traded in my PS2 and all my games for it at EBGamestop; then bought a 360 and the Orange Box. Pretty sweet, even if I do now owe my parents $180.

What the *censored*, DA?

Wed Oct 10, 2007, 6:03 PM
So I got online after school today, and I decided to hop on DA. I check my messages, run through new deviations, the usual drill. Then I go to take a look at the Daily Deviations - which is also my usual procedure.

Except not today.

Because today, Deviantart decided that 16 years old is not old enough to have control over the content filter - nevermind that I've been able to set it however I want since I joined. Nevermind that if I didn't want to see images involving nudity, I could always have turned it on and left it that way on my own initiative. Nevermind that I am old enough to drive - which means I am trusted with the kinetic energy equivalent of an old seige weapon, a machine which has claimed more lives than any other. I am not allowed to say for myself what content I am ready to see.

I'm really wanting to start swearing right now...
Oh wait. I'm only sixteen. I obviously don't know such vile words.
