So, has anyone else seen the trailer for Jumper yet?
It's based on a really excellent book by Steven Gould of the same name, and it kind of has me irritated. I first read Jumper I think when I was 10 or 11, and it's always been one of my favorite books. It's a very interesting and compelling story. You should read it. And the sequel, Reflex. Also an excellent book.
Anyway, my problem isn't that I don't think Jumper should be a movie. My problem is that it shouldn't be THIS movie. The plot is completely different, and it doesn't leave room for the original's philosophy or moral themes. If you've read it, you should watch the trailer and tell me what you think. I mean, the fact that it's got Samuel L. Jackson is definitely a pro, but... well, I'm certain it'll be a good movie.
I'm equally certain it won't be my Jumper.
